Education and Outreach

Educating the next generation of scientists is one of the core aims of the NCCR Microbiomes. We are excited about several activities that we are currently planning, including technological and methodological trainings for our PhD students and postdocs, as well as events which will support their career development or give them the possibility to interact with industrial partners.

But the NCCR Microbiomes aims to also bring across the importance and the fascination of microbial life to the general public. To this end, we plan to participate in scientific festivals in 2021 such as Scientifica, organised by the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich on 3 – 5 September, where we will present an exhibition booth and a workshop.
