Babak Momeni on modeling microbial interactions
NCCR Microbiomes Seminar Series

On 1 March, we are excited to host Babak Momeni, Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Boston College.
The Momeni lab studies the ecology and evolution of microbial communities using quantitative and systems biology approaches, examining communities at different levels of complexity: in silico, synthetic and simple natural communities. They combine quantitative experimentation with mathematical modeling to discover interactions and to explain functions that arise from those interactions. Such knowledge could help develop strategies to control microbial communities, with relevance for clinical, environmental and industrial applications.
In 2017, Babak Momeni received the Smith Family Foundation Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research.
Babak Momeni will give an NCCR talk entitled: ‘Modeling interactions among nasal bacteria to guide
microbiota-based therapy’. The seminar will take place on 1 March 2022, from 14h00 to 15h00 CET. You can access this public seminar through this Zoom link.
