Camille Goemans on antibiotics and the gut microbiome
On 7 May 2024, the NCCR Microbiomes Seminar Series is thrilled to host Camille Goemans, Professor in the Global Health Institute at EPFL.
Prof. Goemans heads the Laboratory of Drug-microbiota Interactions, which investigates how antibiotics interact with the human gut microbiota and lead to dysbiosis, the associated emergence of antibiotic resistance, and ultimately the design of improved treatment. To do this, her lab combines systems biology approaches with molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics and biochemistry.
Camille Goemans has received numerous awards and honors for her research, including the Christiane Nusslein-Volhard Foundation Award (Germany, 2019) and the l’Oreal/UNESCO for Women in Science Award (Germany, 2020).
Camille Goemans will give a talk entitled ‘The impact of antibiotics on the human gut microbiota’. The seminar will take place on 7 May 2024, from 12h00 to 13h00 CEST. You can access this public seminar through this Zoom link.
