On June 2nd 2026, the NCCR Microbiomes Seminar Series is pleased to welcome Christine Moissl-Eichinger, Professor of Interactive Microbiome Research at the Medical University of Graz.

Prof. Christine Moissl-Eichinger’s research explores the human microbiome and archaeome, with a strong focus on host–microbe interactions, archaeal ecology, methane biology, and the role of archaea in health and disease. Since 2023, she is Co-Director of the Cluster of Excellence “Microbes drive Planetary Health and her current ERC-funded ARCH-METH project investigates archaeal keystone species in host microbiomes.

Christine Moissl-Eichinger will give a talk titled “The human gut archaeome: an overlooked microbial domain with emerging links to colorectal cancer”. The seminar will take place on Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 12h00 to 13h00 CEST.
