Jasmine Berg on environmental microbiogeochemistry

NCCR Microbiomes Seminar Series

On 3 May, we are delighted to host Jasmine Berg, Assistant Professor in the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics at the University of Lausanne.

Jasmine Berg studies biogeochemical cycles in anoxic aquatic habitats and lake sediments. She is especially interested in so-called cryptic redox processes, which are easily overlooked by traditional quantitative analyses, but which could play a key environmental role in fostering active and diverse microbial communities. To investigate these processes, the Berg lab uses an interdisciplinary approach that relies on biological, geological, and chemical methods

Jasmine Berg will give an NCCR talk entitled: ‘Cryptic redox element cycling: quantifying overlooked microbial processes with a global impact’. The seminar will take place on 3 May 2022, from 12h00 to 13h00 CEST. You can access this public seminar through this Zoom link.
