Florian Schueder joins NCCR Microbiomes as associated partner

We’re delighted to welcome Florian Schueder to the NCCR Microbiomes as associated partner.

Florian Schueder studied Physics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University from 2009 to 2015. He then pursued a PhD in Biophysics at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried from 2015 to 2020. From 2021 to 2024, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University. In 2025, he was a visiting scientist at ETH Zurich in the lab of Wolf-Dietrich Hardt, collaborating with several NCCR Microbiomes groups. Since 2026, been leading his own lab as an Assistant Professor at the School of Life Sciences at EPFL, specialising in multiplexed super-resolution fluorescence microscopy techniques and their applications in cell biology and microbiology.

We look forward to continued and future collaborations with Florian and his group, and to the valuable expertise he will bring to our research activities.
